Plenty Foods commission new automatic PET bottle filling line from HBM
HBM Packaging have recently commissioned a new PET bottling line for nut oils at the Plenty Foods factory in Kingaroy.
Plenty Foods are the leading manufacturer of cold pressed edible oils in Australia. Their range of chemical-free, plant and nut-based oils are packaged for the retail, food service and export markets.
Plenty Foods have now fully automated their PET bottling line with the addition of a Lanfranchi Eco L-10 Bottle Unscrambler, a Tardito rinser/blower and a Rejves 6 head linear filler, all of which are Italian-made.
The Lanfranchi Unscrambler automatically loads the lightweight PET bottles onto the conveyor leading to the Tardito Rinser, which up-ends and blows air into the bottles to remove any impurities. Previously a full time operator was tasked with loading bottles onto the line.
The Rejves 6 head linear filler uses mass flowmeter technology, and was specified to fill the 750ml PET bottles at 25bpm with the provision to also handle tin cans and small glass bottles with minimal changeover.
With the assistance of Italian engineers and an HBM service technician, the three machines were installed, commissioned and put into production. Onsite training and troubleshooting advice was provided to the very capable Plenty Foods production team who were quick to familiarize themselves with the new systems.
HBM had previously worked with Josh Gadishke, Managing Director of Plenty Foods, to supply a Rinser-Filler-Capper monoblock for oils in glass bottles, and he was again very satisfied with the service from HBM and the quality of the installed equipment, offering the following feedback:
“At Plenty Foods, we recently purchased multiple machines from HBM to streamline and automate our oil bottling line, and the experience has been nothing short of exceptional. From the initial consultation to the installation and beyond, HBM’s team has been easy to work with, providing excellent support and guidance.”
